Little in Size Big in Output.
I was looking for a key-chain flashlight to replace my aging MAGLITE Solitaire (1xAAA). I was hoping for something a little brighter and wow did I find it. This light is a little larger than the Solitaire but not enough to tell while in my pocket. The push button operation ensures easy single-handed use and the button is recessed just enough so accidental activation should not occur.
There are other lights out there with multiple modes of operation (i.e. high medium low strobe SOS etc) but this one doesnt fit into these categories. It only has two modes of operation on and off. Because Im using this as a key-chain light I only need these two modes. I subscribe to simplicity and convenience when it comes to tools and this satisfies this nicely.
It is very well constructed and appears to be weather resistant by utilizing o-rings in its design. If you are looking for a LED replacement for your key-chain get this one and you will not be disappointed. :2010-09-16 00:44:20
Amazing little flashlight
Im used to Luxeon LEDs which I had thought were bright so this little Cree LED flashlight was a very pleasant surprise. Just short of laser-bright the tiny key chain flashlight has everything I had wanted: astonishing brightness; a very convenient tactical / tail-mounted firm clicky switch that is very unlikely to be accidentally triggered in the most crowded pocket so youre not going to be stuck with a dead light when you need it most; power from a single AAA battery; and an elegant form factor and finish with a slick matte black surface. Also an included lanyard and keychain mount. I assume this was assembled by LED Wholesalers themselves from available parts and they did a great job. The only odd note is that it has no imprint or logo on it whatsoever and though it is clearly brand new arriving in a sealed little box with a bubble wrap bag inside there is no label or literature of any kind anywhere. Brings Illumination to the world.
This product sets a new standard in pocket lights its bright I mean really bright not just bright for a pocket light but black helicopter search light bright. Say you were out in the middle of nowhere and your headlights burned out. Well with this excellent product you could just tape this light to the front of your car or bike and youd be good to go.
Without doubt the best feature on this item is its push button on/off switch. Oh how often have all of us bought one of those twist on/off lights only to have it fall apart the first time we use it well once anyway and I was terribly terribly disapointed.
My only complaint with this fine insturment is the method of attaching a lanyard or key-ring is by a tiny hole in the body of the light. If I were asked to improve this product Id use a revolving swivel with a heavy wire loop.
In conclusion buy this light it is really really good! :2010-09-16 00:44:20
